Surprisingly, the scientists subsequently came across two more exoplanets, which were given the names GJ 357 c and GJ 357 d. While GJ 357 c is in all probability very hot and has at least 3.4 times the mass of the earth, the outermost known sister planet of the system – GJ 357 d – could offer conditions like on earth, according to a broadcast by the Tess team on Wednesday.

Looking for signs of life

GJ 357 d is likely to orbit the dwarf star every 55.7 days at a distance of about 20 percent of the distance between the earth and the sun. The scientists assume that its mass is at least 6.1 times that of the earth. « With a dense atmosphere, the planet GJ 357 d could hold liquid water on its surface like the earth, » « said Kaltenegger. He is «  » one of the best planets «  » to look for signs of life with future telescopes.

The Austrian, who conducts research at Cornell University in Ithaca (US state New York) and is part of the scientific team of the Tess mission, simulated the possible conditions on the planet in cooperation with PhD student Jack Madden and his fellow student Zifan Lin. This could have a rocky composition, but it could also be a water world, as reported in the specialist journal « The Astrophysical Journal Letters ». If GJ 357 d is a rocky world, its size would be between one and two times the size of the earth. GJ 357 d receives approximately the same amount of energy from its central star as Mars does from the sun.

«  » We built the first models of what this new world might look like. The knowledge that liquid water can exist on the surface of this planet motivates the search for ways to discover signs of life, «  » said Madden.

The Dachstein King is actually an old man who becomes a giant when he curses three dairy women who are stingy and rude.essays websites This is what the legend tells. The Dachsteinkönig in hotel form is based on this same legend, but it is exactly the opposite: young, spacious and extremely inviting.

The eternal winter that the Dachstein king wished for the stingy dairy farmers is not absolutely necessary at the Hotel Dachsteinkönig in order to enjoy the hotel at the foot of the eponymous mountain and the Dachstein West ski area. No matter what time of year it is, the Dachstein King always has something to offer for everyone.

Hiking, skiing and Hallstatt or just walking outside

And for «  » everyone «  » includes the whole family. The five-smiley children’s hotel in Gosau-Mittertal (Upper Austria) was built by the Mayer family from Tyrol to make the dream of a luxury family vacation come true. The hotel is located in the middle of the picturesque mountain landscape of the Salzkammergut, not far from the tourist stronghold Hallstatt, which can be reached in just 20 minutes. If you don’t want the hustle and bustle of Hallstatt, the surrounding mountains invite you to go hiking or skiing.

But such a wide radius is not necessary in order to enjoy the advantages of the Dachstein King. Directly behind the hotel there is a meadow where the little ones can practice their first turns with a ski instructor, while the parents watch from the balcony. There is also a beautiful playground, a petting zoo and a fleet of vehicles with everything a child’s heart desires for all small fans of mobility; From tricycles to balance bikes to ladder carts, everything – and more – is included. Here no wish remains unfulfilled and no child without a wheeled pedestal.

Indoor hits

However, if the weather does not play a role in the outdoor program – as is now the case in November – the Dachsteinkönig also has everything inside that makes families happy. Starting here with a list is just as difficult as making the selection on site which offer to start with.

Nice and thought out rooms

Usually it is the room that is explored first and these (105 family suites and twelve chalet units are available for guests – only families with children are allowed by the way) are as beautiful as they are well thought out. In each room there is an extra children’s room with a bunk bed, a cozy cave for the little explorers and even a duplo play box is available to keep boredom away (and perhaps to give the parents a little rest). The adults look forward to a friendly wooden room with a comfortable, large bed, a balcony and lots of space.

Culinary

Once the room has been explored, the first tour is on. Would you like a little bite beforehand? In the Dachsteinkönig there is always something to eat and drink – except for half an hour in the evening. For childless people this may sound a bit exaggerated, parents know: This is pure luxury, not having to worry about the daily menu selection, but having a large selection on offer – at any time. Groceries are mostly bought regionally and the kitchen (there is always a buffet) leaves nothing to be desired.

Playing, driving, gymnastics, swimming …

If your stomach is full, you can dig into one of the indoor playgrounds, a gaming room, a teenagers room, the kart track, the gym or, of course, the hotel’s own wellness area. The latter is particularly popular with toddler families. A sweet baby area with numerous toys, which is also really nice and warm, pleases young and old. The swimming area for the bigger ones is perhaps the only small criticism that you could list if you wanted to find one. There is a great tube slide here, but the water in the large area may have turned out a bit too cool. This small deficiency makes the fact that this pool water – like no other in Austria – has drinking water quality that can even be pumped into the river.

or relax?

Of course, mom AND dad have splashed around enough (yes, together!) And have the opportunity to enjoy the “adult-only” SPA area, because the Dachsteinkönig offers childcare. A total of 13 hours a day divided into five age groups. So there is something for everyone. Costs extra? Zero.
